All through the campaign, Republicans bitterly criticized Obama for a lack of leadership. Now, when Republicans desperately need a spending cuts proposal of their own, WHO is their leader?
Is it ….Grover? No? Mitch? Hmmm. Paul Ryan of ‘budget’ fame? Oooh, uh-uh. Rush! Oh, Rush says to do the cliff.
Boehner? Right. He’s made lots of proposals. Willard? Oh, he’s got a proposal, but it’s still secret.
Maybe Eric Cantor with his laser-like focus on jobs. Oh, wait…. that resulted in anti-abortion bills and continued repeal of ACA.
    Where IS the Republican leadership?

Boehner needs to step down as Speaker so that we can get a real leader in there. I think I’ll start a campaign to Primary him ASAP.

The scary thing is that John McCain seems to be acting as leader these days. Since no one else will fill the gap…

Then I guess it’s good you live in Canada. In general we like our system, that’s why we left yours a few hundred years ago…

Obviously the republicans have enormous changes to make to restore their credibility with their base, like move into the 21st century on social issues, economics and expanding their ethnic/gender base. But before anyone gets to heady about owning the world, remember the democrats were in the same position during the 70’s and 80’s. They had to “reinvent” themselves to be able to get Bill Clinton elected in 1992. Hopefully we (Libertarians) can get a much stronger foothold and expand our platform to compete more aggressively in 2016.—democrats—the-post-romney-gop-looks-just-like-you-did-two-decades-ago-13564462.html

Whoa there, Mickey. Doc Canuck is Canadian, not English. We Americans left the English system behind, not the Canadian.
Yes, I know that Canadians base their system on the English as well, but it’s not quite the same as what comes out of Britain.

Cuts in waste in “defense” and contracting we don’t need. Cutting waste and fraud in Medicare paid to insurance companies and “providers”. Holding the line on salary increases in the federal government. Obama has come up with many more significant cuts, and asked for a minor tax increase on the wealthy, a real increase, not just swapping one deduction for another as Republicans have proposed, that will do NOTHING!

The American people need to realize that “leadership” from Boehner, Cantor, Norquist, McConnell, and well, the whole GOP all come from the "Custer school’, go for the publicity, and don’t worry about those arrows.

custom would make the losing GOP prez candidate the GOP leader, but Romny disappeared…so party leadership is up for grabs. I’m not a GOP member but I sure would not vote for Boehner or his House clique that just took revenge on elected conservatives by removing them from committee leadership.
If the Obama Democrats can manage it, they will eliminate the Republican Party….on their road to a Marxist-Socialist Dictatorship.

We have been neglecting our power grid, roads, bridges, railroads and the public infrastructure. The American Society of Civil Engineers gave our infrastructure a D grade in 2009! Power outages last about four times as long in this country as those in France, and seven times longer than France. We have antiquated roads, bridges, railroads and electric grids! The businesses that rely on our infrastructure lose money through wasted, spoiled food in refrigerated trucks. Truckers turn off the refrigeration to save money, resulting in ill customers, or lost produce. All that trucked fast food to McDucks, and any other chain fast food might be past its due date while you’re eating it! Its estimated to cost 2.2 trillion to bring our infrastructure up to snuff! So, government spending is needed to save money in the long run. It will stimulate the jobs market and the economy.
