To bad we have not been drilling here drilling 6 years ago. You can see the effects on a world scale from the PRIVATE land boom of drilling. If only we had a leadership who understood why gas at 5$ a gallon is a bad thing or A True Believer President who wants to bankrupt coal. Obama is such an idiot who does not understand why the Keystone Pipeline would help with National Security there is no way he can understand things such as being a “weak president” will embolden Russia to invade. Or that Russia is a “geopolitical” threat. Obama is stuck in the 80’s. yuck yuck ha ha ha, and he can see it from a front porch, ha ha ha..

“To bad we have not been drilling here drilling 6 years ago.”

Or 12 years ago when a Republican was in the White House.

Harley made his comment about “not been drilling here” 6 years ago. Republicans were in control during most of the Bush Administration. We could have been drilling more way back when. Woulda. Coulda. Maybe shoulda (or not). But didn’t.

Or 12 years ago when a Republican was in the White House.
Fracking has been around for a few decades, but the standard and techniques that has spawned this boom have only been around for the last decade. And that is why when Palin started with the drill here drill now was so good. We finally had the tools we needed, and if we had started, we could be well on our way.

If you’re going to give credit to the private drillers for increased production, you should also give them the blame for not doing it sooner. Got to be consistent you know, not just be intellectually stupid and blame Obama for everything.

    ntellectually stupid "
oh yes, they only started when the price went up and the technology was developed to sideways drill. that is what started the boom in 2006, and it was not till Mr. True Believer demonized carbon fuel that the price went way up, for our own good you know. So I give Obama credit for that.

You think the price went “way up” because of a comment from the President. You’ve never studied economics have you.

Obama, being a true believer, states he wanted to bankrupt coal and have gas at 5$ a gallon for our own good. Then Obama, like a good little town cry baby, used his place of authority to block anything that would benefit “evil rich oil companies” Obama also made it clear that the only thing he supported was magic green jobs that ran on unicorn farts. By doing this and his FAILURES dealing with anything from another country, like say oil countries over in the middle east or say and I quote " We will be your biggest customers" To Brazil at a time he shut down the gulf and supported no drilling near the coast line? So yes I can state Obama wanted and his action have kept the prices above 3$ for most of the time he has been in office. Further more I can say that if it was not for the Private development that he could not but wanted to block, the price would have been and still over 5$ just like he wanted while he was running.

So if it was Obama’s actions that kept gas above $3, now that gas is mostly under $3, can we give Obama credit? No, Obama does not set the price of gas up or down. Today the drop was due to the OPEC cartel agreeing not to cut production, possibly to force out the higher cost producers and defend their turf. The point being it is the forces of supply and demand that determine prices, not Obama.
