    Calvin once asked his father why the eyes are shut when one sneezes. Response: if the eyes were open, the optic nerves would stretch the eyes out of the sockets and you’d have to hold your eyes up.

    It is all that stuff you eject at 100 mph that could get in your eyes is why.
