    And what was wrong with playing soccer in the early 14th century England?

    I’m not much of a soccer fan, either.

    @TEMPLO S.U.D.

    Probably still as boring now as it was then.

    “Not”: Association football (aka “soccer”) didn’t even exist until 1863.

    Perhaps he banned “football”?

    Was it ever “UnBanned?” Might explain why it attracts so many Hooligans

    There have been many attempts to ban football, from the middle ages through to the modern day.

    There were stories a few years ago of people taking a sleep aid (or some other medicine) and doing things while asleep, for which they had no memory.

    Soccer grew into the world’s biggest sport anyway. Gambling action, money for franchises, players, concessions, etc., make the NFL look like a kindergarten exercise.

    King Edward III banned soccer in 1365 owing to the growing incidents of violence and military indulgence in the sport. In 1424 King James I of Scotland also proclaimed in the Parliament— “Na man play at the Fute-ball” (No man shall play football)

    Lots of people don’t remember driving. I have a trucker friend who once drove from Calgary to Saskatoon without remembering a thing.

    Driving while sleeping is not all that uncommon, while I have not done it in many years I used to do to it every once in awhile.

    Once on a 400 mile trip from Lower to Yoopee I was talking with my brother when this guy in the back seat joined in the conversation.

    Couple hundred miles later the guy said he needed out at the next road. I let him out and turned to my brother and asked, “Where did you pick him up at?”

    He told me, “I didn’t, I thought you did.”

    Apparently I was sleeping through a couple turns at a light where he was thumbing and he thought we were offering him a ride.

    I’ve often wished I knew where to contact this guy just to see the look on his face when I told him he had ridden with a couple of sleeping guys.

    The most popular bats are Mizuno and Louisville Sluggers and dingbats like Edith Bunker.
