I take it then that you don’t want to know where mayonnaise comes from.

While it is mainly used in both foods and beverages as part of an artificial vanilla flavor, it is less commonly used as a part of a raspberry or strawberry flavoring. The annual industry consumption is very low, around 300 pounds, whereas vanillin is over 2.6 million pounds annually.
Castoreum has been traditionally used in Scandinavia for flavoring snaps commonly referred to as “Bäverhojt”.

You learn something new every day, unfortunately, as is the case sometimes.

Well, now I’m gonna make sure I don’t order ice cream and put mayo on my Hot Dog…..oh wait, Hot Dogs have all of that “other stuff” in them too.

How and who collects this beaver stuff ? We humans do some crazy stuff, I used to follow my dog with a duo-stick so I could figure out how to adjust the insulin dose. Put stick in urine stream and watch for the color change !

If you knew what was in lip gloss you would never kiss a woman again.

and carmine, which is used as a bright red food coloring, is crushed beetles. hence the name ‘bug juice’. also, the swim bladder of a fish is used as a clarifying agent in drinks. and thats just a few. youd never eat processed food again if you knew all the stuff thats used to produce it.

Personally, I find Gliese 436b especially interesting. I expect almost anything from humans, but not from physics.

Doesn’t bother me. However if you do enough research you will die of starvation. As if you would be getting urine in your ice cream. Not the case.

Then you need to expand your awareness into a wider world, galaxies wide.
