So what’s £400 ($619) worth today? And does Alan plan to donate his skulls to science when he dies? Also, who’s bigger competition: Captain Ahab or Captain Nemo?

And people still are listening to those Liverpool lads. And will be 100 years from now.

“Also, who’s bigger competition: Captain Ahab or Captain Nemo?”

Neither one, Ahab was a whaler, and Nemo a submariner.

£400 was worth a lot more than $619 back then. Before decimalisation, the English pound was worth about $2.40 US.

Pardon me, but I didn’t think sperm whates had teeth. Only dolphins, of which the orca is the largest, have teeth.

Some whales have teeth, some do not. The sperm whale does.

Decca Records rejected the Beatles, saying that “guitar groups are on the way out” and “the Beatles have no future in show business.”

Beattles were one of most expensive promotional campaigns in advertising history. If you believe otherwise you are naive.

When I was a child, I sort of liked the Beatles. Now that I’m an adult, I can see that they weren’t worth all the attention. I listen almost entirely to classical music these days …

I’d say it’s Capt America. He’s had movies, tv shows and comic books. Plus an action figure!
