    And for something related to Saint Patrick’s Day, Irish fought in the War against Mexico (1846-1847… as the Mexicans’ allies (they were known as El Batallón de San Patricio)!

    I knew it. I got a brain that has a virus, will not defragmentation and has a faulty hard drive. The hardware isn’t up to much either.

    Robb Armstrong mentioned my great-great-great grandfather by full name in his March 14 “Jump Start” strip in an arc on coin collecting.
    Peter Filatreu Cross (1815-1862) was an assistant engraver at the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia under James B. Longacre in the 1840s and 1850s, and is best known as the man who designed the reverse of the 1849 $1 gold coin.
