Ripley's Believe It or Not has been presenting the incredible and the unusual in illustrated form since Robert Ripley's first "Champs and Chumps" comic published on Dec. 19, 1918. Currently, B.I.O.N. is illustrated by John Graziano, who has been working as an artist and illustrator since 1983, when he received a certificate in illustration from the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts. He has designed trading card sets and a portrait series based on the 1960s cult TV show "Dark Shadows." John has also created comic strips for "Scream Queens" magazine, designed t-shirts graphics and created storyboards and concept drawings for Hollywood films. Researcher Lucas Stram has worked since 2004 as the voice behind the cartoon, reviewing potential stories, filtering through the hundreds of weekly submissions and putting together the stories for John to bring to life. New submissions are always welcome. Just click here.

Spitting antelope dung is a sport? I would have thought it was a punishment or a psychiatric ward possibility once you were suitably psyched.

Just think that you get to keep your old credit cards. Sure I would destroy mine when it expired. Melted down and taken to those people that buy old gold.

Bubble wrap as wall paper? That’s hard to believe.

And when you’re put in the psych ward for spitting antelope dung they will put you in a room wallpapered in bubble wrap and you can pay for it all with your melted down credit card!

Spitting dung …is that a sport, or politics?
Or a competition in Fear Factor.

Would love to see a Paul Harvey “Rest of the Story” on the dung spiting. How did they come up with it ?

I want to know the rationale for the first guy to pick up antelope dung, and put it in his mouth. Perhaps he thought it was a ‘Whopper ball’ he just dropped, realized his mistake, then spit it out. His friend sees him, and bets him he can spit one farther …

If I am ever in South Africa and have a mouth full of antelope dung, that is sure as hell what I will do with it!

Sounds like a scene from a Mel Brooks movie

From what I could learn, the bubble wrap was never actually sold as wallpaper, but was originally developed to be a three-dimensional wall-paper. The idea didn’t go over so hot but the developers realized it made great packaging material the rest is history.

Bubble wrap makes a good bathroom window curtain. It’s opaque and not affected by moisture. Even has insulating properties.

Bubble was markteded as wallpaper. When that failed it was marketed it as greenhouse insulation. It was first used as packing by IBM. Now you know the story.
