I think the Bristlecone thing is under some dispute. Some claim that Yew trees can live over five thousand years. There are also Olive trees in Europe that are believed to be up to four thousand years old, and some have been confirmed to be two-to-three thousand years old .

Bacteria are immortal and so is the regenerating jelly fish. The only way they die is if they are killed.

@Cooncat I thought Phillies second baseman Chase Utley was the man!

That was the title bestowed upon Utley by the late, great Hall of Fame announcer Harry Kalas after Utley beat a close call at the plate where he came home from second base after a groundout by Ryan Howard.
Harry Kalas Chase Utley, you ARE the man!

Bristlecone Pine tree-ring dating is used to adjust and correct Carbon-14 dating. Dendrochronology helps out radiocarbon dating.

He could be boxing men that are in their 80’s. Doesn’t give the age of his competitors. :)

We saw some bristlecone pines on our High Sierra trip last summer. They tasted like chicken.

In Africa, a lot of tribes catch beetles, caterpillars, and other insects. Then they roast them for a well pleasing snack. Just like we eat potato chips or pretzels.
