Ripley's Believe It or Not has been presenting the incredible and the unusual in illustrated form since Robert Ripley's first "Champs and Chumps" comic published on Dec. 19, 1918. Currently, B.I.O.N. is illustrated by John Graziano, who has been working as an artist and illustrator since 1983, when he received a certificate in illustration from the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts. He has designed trading card sets and a portrait series based on the 1960s cult TV show "Dark Shadows." John has also created comic strips for "Scream Queens" magazine, designed t-shirts graphics and created storyboards and concept drawings for Hollywood films. Researcher Lucas Stram has worked since 2004 as the voice behind the cartoon, reviewing potential stories, filtering through the hundreds of weekly submissions and putting together the stories for John to bring to life. New submissions are always welcome. Just click here.

I’ve heard of some clothing out of duct tape (and Jon Arbuckle making some out of newspaper Sunday comic pages; 5 Sept. 1993), but never labels. Very wicked, Mr. Hemperly.

Just a pedantic point of grammar (for which I’ve probably become quite infamous) , in referring to dates from modern day, it is “back” to the 1850s or forward “from the 1850s to modern day”.

Ah yes Prof, standards have fallen a long way. How well I remember my English master calling me to his desk and pointing at my essay saying, " my God boy, you didn’t ort to write a sentence like that". I have him to thank for everything what I have written since.

@tom_wright
See the “Submitted By” just below the first two facts on the left. Both were submitted by Dan Paulun with the same City but different State. Nothing serious but I just found it funny.

MacGyvers of the world, unite! …On second thought, don’t. You’d probably take over.

I hope it didn’t rain on his prom night. That could have gotten ugly.

If Lefelhocz sends his quilt somewhere through the post office, it will be ‘chain mail’.

With a name like HEMPerly and he’s making stuff out of Mountain Dew bottles? What is wrong with him?

Hadn’t noticed that. Dan and both of the men he submitted make me think of the Styx song “Too Much Time On My Hands”.
