Ripley's Believe It or Not has been presenting the incredible and the unusual in illustrated form since Robert Ripley's first "Champs and Chumps" comic published on Dec. 19, 1918. Currently, B.I.O.N. is illustrated by John Graziano, who has been working as an artist and illustrator since 1983, when he received a certificate in illustration from the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts. He has designed trading card sets and a portrait series based on the 1960s cult TV show "Dark Shadows." John has also created comic strips for "Scream Queens" magazine, designed t-shirts graphics and created storyboards and concept drawings for Hollywood films. Researcher Lucas Stram has worked since 2004 as the voice behind the cartoon, reviewing potential stories, filtering through the hundreds of weekly submissions and putting together the stories for John to bring to life. New submissions are always welcome. Just click here.

The Voyager has an engraving of what humans look like and a map of from whence it came.
Basically it says " Attention all advanced civilizations: If you’re looking for good strong slaves, here’s where to find them."

Maybe if he had thrown the paper on the portico instead of in the Rose Garden, he would have been paid sooner.

The $7.50 debt gets paid off, but “the buck stops here”!
lcdrlar said, 9 months ago
Did he get interest for those years, and what about a late fee?

Inflation adjusted to 2010…the $7.50 would be over $74.00. Then add late fees.

So, a Crown of Thornes starfish can grow to the size of a tire?
Would that be 4, 6, 8, 10,12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20, or 30 inches??

Let’s just assume it’s the standard factory installed tires for a four-door passenger vehicle, which could mean 15 or 16 inches today. I know SUVs use 20" and larger, but let’s not get technical.

So, that means 11 billion miles equals 16 light-hours, assuming the signal the probe is sending back travels at the speed of light. Assuming it’s still traveling at 17,000 mph, it’s probably traveled another million miles. So, where, in the universe, is it now in relation to our solar system? Is it outside our solar system yet? That would be much more interesting.

Crown of Thorns starfish are also predators that kill coral reefs and like the increasing heat and acidity of our oceans.

There was an old SNL sketch about psychics in which Steve Martin’s character predicts the finding of Voyager by intelligent beings. Their message to the people of Earth: “SEND MORE CHUCK BERRY!”

Close, briatollah, but fhe picture of man etc was actually on Pioneer 10. Voyager 1 has the gold-plated audio-visual disk I believe to which you are referring. And, Yes, in both cases, it does say where we are located… MIB anyone?

Does anyone remember the old Twilight Zone story, “To Serve Man?” Also, beware of strangers bearing gifts—The Trojan Horse, for example.

I thought it said: “Fresh meat! Free!”

Considering how much radioactive material that is on board, it actually says. “Warning: Nuclear Armed and Extremely Dangerous!” This is the real reason aliens have not contacted us…

Those Voyager 1 signals are received with the same time delay as the voice mail messages on my cell phone.
