Antarctica won’t be so big after it melts.

That’s a poor drawing of Australia.

It’s funny how some in that part of the world think that a baby born with extra limbs is a sign from the gods if not a god itself just because they don’t understand it.

@briatollah; unlike the Arctic, Antarctica is a continent. The ice on it may melt (let’s hope not) but the earth won’t.

If it was only an undeveloped twin, there should have been one extra pair of legs, making 4, not 6. Where did the extra set come from?

Actually it will, because that is its size without the ice.

Actually, if the ice was to all melt, Antartica could become BIGGER (the ice actually pushes it down a bit into the mantle, thus allowing the ocean to come up over it a bit. Remove all the ice and it “floats” back up a bit on the mantle and pushes the ocean water back out some. But then again rising ocean levels may counter-act that effect and thus it may very well wind up being smaller. All the NON-ice-covered continents would definitely lose some shoreline and thus shrink a bit in size if all that ice were to melt.

When did Australia start looking like that? Did I miss a big event?

The size of Antarctica will remain the same except for rising sea levels. Antarctica is land not an ice sheet, it just has ice on top.

The wording makes it sound like Europe is bigger than Australia. This is true, but not in the illustration. What a misfire from a usually good art team.
Nice to know we have one cause to envy pigeons.
