Steve Canyon, Race Bannon, and, now, Rip Haywire. A proud addition to the lineup of cartoon pilots.

Snap out of it Rip, before you fly into the McRib storage facility! Egad, what a mess.

If he flies a chopper he will rip some wires, hey?

Know what? I’d take submarine piloting lessons if my ‘Cobra’ wanted me to! Anyway, looks like Rip’s coming around.

I laughed out loud at this one. A literal guffaw. Fortunately, there aren’t many people in the office today.

“Airwolf”. (sigh!) They just don’t make shows like that anymore.
Ernest Borgnine, you are still missed!

So where is Rip gonna park the chopper? I wanna see him land at the supermarket or something equally daft! :-)

    You can do loops

You can do a barrel roll in some choppers. Whether you can stay upside down is another matter.

Given the physics of rotary wing aircraft lift, I doubt flying upside down is a long-term flight mode.

Airwolf was based on a Bell Model 222; twin-blade rotor, NO GO for loops, rolls, or ANY inverted flight. Blue Thunder was ALSO twin-blade main – plus, according to Roy Schieder, “nose-heavy as the Ayatollah.” That wasn’t a line, it was an ad lib that got left in the final cut.
HOWEVER, Bell later came out with the Model 430 – same basic fuselage as the 222, BUT with uprted engines and a FOUR-BLADE main – and that sucker WILL go inverted, long enough for rolls and loops.
But, Don Belisario isn’t planning any Airwolf reunions. JMV and JBS are out of the business, Borgnine is dead, and Alex Cord is AWOL. As for the Canadian production team, well, forget that bunch.
