That’s bear cubs for your. Always wanting to stay up past their hibernation time. Then their parents are up all winter, waiting for them to come home.

Now dog gone it if you cannot appreciate the bears relating to Rip there’s something wrong with you. This is a very cool circumstance and I can appreciate this. Speaking personally I have been (used to be) an avid hunter but the only time in my life that I saw a bear in the wild was from my farm looking north across a meadow. Later that day a few others saw it as well. My nephew shot and killed a black bear (in West Virginia hunting season) with a .357 magnum revolver at very close range. He (we call him Nork, after a true West Virginia mountain man ((a bona fide Mountaineer)) the legend, Dirk Hawkins) is my little sister’s son, a true young tough guy coal miner. In my minds eye I can see him now (afterwards) with a big old Marlboro in his mouth, one eye squinted shut to avoid the smoke, prepping the carcass for transport, probably knife in hand and in anthropomorphic fashion telling the bear what an a— h—e it was for coming too close.

Oh Bear… you know I don’t speak Spanish.
Growl Growl
What? You pooped in the refrigerator?
Gruff-snort
And you ate a whole wheel of cheese? How’d you do that? Heck, I’m not even angry. I’m actually quite impressed.

Linda, I’m kinda liking “Ripscallions”! I also like the expressive looks on Mama Bear’s face! Her tears touched my heart. As a mom, I can relate, too!
