Are they cutting off the headline portions of these ‘strips’ now?

I read at least 3 books per week, winter, summer, spring or fall. I am also in a book club, plus read what people recommend to me.
So many books, so little time.

No, the headline portion was in yesterday’s strip. These ‘strips’ are actually pages from a book where yesterday’s was the left page and today’s would be the facing page on the right.

I read only the comics page, the last venue for quality work by dead white males.

If you’re talking about Charles Schultz, I’m glad his Peanuts strip continues to run (or rerun) in our local paper. But it is kind of depressing how so many strips are now in rerun mode: For Better or Worse, Doonesbury, Calvin and Hobbes. (And then there are some I can’t tell if they’re in reruns or not: Beetle Bailey, Dennis the Menace, Hi and Lois.) There are a number of great new artists out there, but it’s as if the editors don’t want to change the lineup, or don’t care.

When the local paper tried to drop a strip, the uproar was akin to an earthquake. The paper gave in to the mob.
