    I agree with baslimthebegger

    This seems obvious. The lady has a welcome mat on her back, people walk and wipe their feet on welcome mats. That’s probably how a lot of stepmothers feel, too, I imagine.

    Or, we could try the obscure route and maybe the woman is wearing a housecoat and that’s why she’s also wearing the doormat. Obscure is a remedy for having the Obs.
