   Considering the shrieks that resulted when my half-awake ex-girlfriend got up to pee in the middle of the night, but I had been there first, I can’t really blame them.

   If everyone put the LID down before flushing (provided there is a lid) both sexes would have to lift something before using the facility. No one would be put out, no one would forget, and the bathroom would be a friendlier place to be, not to mention fewer germs and bacteria flying around through the mist landing on nearby toothbrushes, etc. Yuck! To repeat, Put the lid down before flushing, it is such an easy solution. And if need be, lift lid after to make sure all went down, but be sure to return lid to its down position. Then Wash Your Hands!

   One more thought about leaving the lid down at all times except during use: It keeps the pets out of the bowl, as well as articles from falling in, such as hair brushes, deodorant, etc.

    I have another solution. Just git rid of the lid entirely. I think this would make it fairer for everyone, as both sexes would have to hold themselves up! Thoughts?
