   I’m not a tree-hugger, and I know it’s just a cartoon, but it’s a disturbing image that I find objectionable. I know this is an edgy comic, and that’s why I read it. Sometimes, though, I’m just not that edgy.

   Giraffes are beautiful, graceful animals with an amazing cardiovascular system that can pump blood up that long neck, yet not burst an artery when the head comes down to drink.
   Several of them run free over a several-acre span in our zoo, and I take about a hundred pictures every time I go there.

   I used to have this one clipped from the paper, only it was penguins. For some reason I find it funnier when it is a penguin, moreso than a giraffe.

   Hey, Ted doesn’t treat the giraffes any worse than he treats his own kids - it’s fair.

   BTW, this is NOT a Family Circus kind of strip - please don’t expect sweetness and light.

   It’s not Animal Planet either. Giraffes can only hiss- no voice box, so I read sometime.
   Still, it is funny to me.

   Maybe the cartoonist could change it to the taker of sulfuric acid crashed into a Day Care or a Retirement Home. No cute animals at those locations so the PETA crowd will be happy.

    I would think the monkey’s would be the ones screaming…giraffe’s would just sort of melt away.

    Kind of like ice cream.
