In summer I often see rain evaporate before it hits the ground.

Sort of like the rain clouds around here…their rain evaporates before it can hit the ground. Very interesting to watch this happen… ;)

It’s not the humidity, it’s the heat!

I’d sure like to be in that sprinkler with you Red and Rover…you just have to be quick to get hit by the drops…It is hot, as you know what, here in So. Cal today and tomorrow…over 100…I hate summer now, and hate when it comes around…

I just love those kind of days. Hot and totally dry.

No, just a very hot Summer. However look to the extremes of weather for that.

Humidity makes the heat feel worse.

In memory of Nat King Cole:
    .
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Dust off the sun and moon and sing a song of cheer
Just fill your basket full of sandwiches and weenies
Then lock the house up, now you’re set
And on the beach you’ll see the girls in their bikinis
As cute as ever but they never get ‘em wet
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
You’ll wish that summer could always be here
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Dust off the sun and moon and sing a song of cheer
Don’t hafta tell a girl and fella about a drive-in
    Or some romantic movie scene
Right from the moment that those lovers start arrivin’
You’ll see more kissin’ in the cars than on the screen
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
You’ll wish that summer could always be here
You’ll wish that summer could always be here
You’ll wish that summer could always be here
    .

Couldn’t be global warming. It wasn’t invented yet (at time of this strip – 50s 60s).

@ oldwolf1951….see lyrics above. You start, I’ll join in!

    I agree re: Beach Boys. They’re teen fun, but this is a got-the-WHOLE-gang-together song. An’ a one…an’ a two….

    @ORMouseworks

The phenomena is called “verga”, here in the US Southwest. The rain shows up on weather radar but all the ground gets is wind gusts.
