Roger that. The ultimate is life insurance – you’re betting them you’re going to die, and they’re betting you you’re going to live, and you’re hoping they win. :-)

Insurance is just a bad savings account where you never get all your money back.

Insurance is a very unique product. Before you buy it, it will do marvelous things for you. After you buy it, it doesn’t do anything for you much!

I get a kick out out of the commercials where people don’t understand just what their policy doesn’t cover, and it’s all the insurance companies fault

People also don’t seem to get that better coverage costs more money

Want accident forgiveness? you got it, we’ll just start you off at a higher rate

Same deal for new car replacement, we’ll overcharge you so much we can afford to replace your car twice

We got hit by a driver with no insurance. Our insurance company of the time not only raised our rates, but the agent ranted to us on the phone about not being able to track the guy down – as if it were somehow our fault that they couldn’t find him.

Happened to me once when someone tried to make a left turn right through my car on a road not far from where I’m currently sitting as I type this. My insurance company raised my rates for an accident that was not my fault. I dropped them. Day the new policy took effect, I came home from work to find a check for my old deductible in the mailbox. If my old insurer had stayed with me, they wouldn’t have lost a customer.

The insurance companies ARE going to make money. They’ll raise your rates or drop you if they think you have had too many costly claims.

I had to leave Allstate after they tried raising our rates from $100 per month to $800 per month with no accidents at all. They told me it had something to do with farmers in my area making claims for the recent flooding. I asked what that had to do with me and they said that our household was randomly selected for this rate increase. I still think they were pulling my chain but I shopped around and started car insurance with one of their competitors instead.
