I find it all stupid and unnecessary.

The questions are dumb because knowing the addressee it’s a waste of time asking them.

It’s an effective way of avoiding life. Who needs to know any more than that?

My boyfriend is European and watches soccer and after the game, he watches highlights and reads the comments and makes comments. I just roll my eyes and go back to living life.

I love to watch the actual games. What I hate is those side line reporters that aggravate the coaches at the end of the first half asking all those stupid questions that are obvious if you know anything at all about football. Those coaches show great restraint.

@tcar-1: agreed. I think they just want to find out if the coaches agree with the commentator/analyzers.
@mluckie7: Since I read some of the gocomics and arcamax comics and make comments, I can understand your boyfriend’s ‘obsession.’ I suppose we all have our distractions from life.

It’s the same with the news, esp. when there’s coverage of a trial:

What do you think is going to happen if the verdict is this or that?

    Coverage of the verdict.

Followed by: What is going to happen now that the verdict is in? (As if all the pre-verdict legal speculation wasn’t worth the spit it was spoken with.)

Men watching the pre and after game shows to boost their understanding of games is no different than women sitting around talking about ‘their’ stuff.
I see no use for the game show results but men see no need for our coffee klatches either. Tit for tat…I guess. Just…each of us enjoy what you’re doing..

The networks need the money and they don’t want to waste money on REAL programming. Besides, there is a giant football cult ready to inhale all this stuff.

Ghost sure knows how to dictate how others should lead their lives, and he is so incredibly tolerant of these others and how they choose to spend their own money. Don’t like sports? Fine, don’t participate. Athletes are paid what the market will bear, and although you have class envy, that don’t change anything. Obviously Ghost is a liberal troll who would gladly hug a terrorist to show just how progressive he is, but verbally attacks his neighbors.

Ghost01 said Like sports in general, it is nothing but a waste of time and money. Instead of billions spent on this useless garbage yearly, pay off our national debt with all that $ and fix this country once and for all. well, you understand how the economy works even less than I do. Not having sports isn’t going to make more money available for those other things. Sports, as well as, other economic activities, generate wealth. If all that stopped, who would be better off?
