Dont blame you, I hate someone thinking they are above you…I would not want to be around them at all…There are some on this comic site also…I’d say, give it a rest and just drink your beer…

No, it’s “so much better than I am.” Actually, who really gives a damm anymore?

Well, I do…. and the “am” or any other verb is understood, so “better than I” is perfectly acceptable. Proper use of a language is the last gasp of civility.

“So much better” is doubtful in itself since “better” is already a comparative" and does not come in degrees.

I am a writer, so words are important to me. Those people who think grammar doesn’t matter are indirectly saying that the content of their speech and writing doesn’t matter. The purpose of grammar is to order content in a way that conveys clarity of meaning. If a person thinks that what they say has sufficient significance to make it worth taking another’s time and attention to hear, then as a matter of courtesy the speaker should be committed to transferring content clearly.

Spyderred, that comment made me so happy…

It’s the perfect rebuttal to anybody that says, “Well you understood me, so what if I grammar’d good or not?”

Yes such Compulsive Grammarians have a mental problem. They must correct grammar of anyone else and yet ignore the content of what has been said.

My biggest pet peeve on TV is when they use bring instead of take. Will you bring me to the store. NO, I will take you to the store though. When did bring used like that become proper grammar?
