    But the company is probably the beneficiary. I would never let any company have insurance on me.

    My dad was a steelworker, and his insurance policy paid double indemnity if he died from work-related causes. My mom always said that when he was breathing his last gasp, she would drive him to the plant and stick his fingers through the chain-link fence so he’d die on company property. (She died first, if you’re wondering, so she never got the chance.)

    Walmart has been doing that. I can see the person hiring: Sorry sir you’re too healthy, next. You weigh 312 lb and have diabetes, you’re hired. Now wait till it gets a little hotter. We have some fertilizer bags in the parking lot that need stacking.
