Well, you COULD tell him to cancel all the privileges for the congressmen to save tax dollars to get some REAL health care….
….nah, they’d probably whine like babies and declare you to be a terrorist or anti-American or something.

Probably. congresscritters hate having their privileges taken away. After all that’s why they became blood-sucking, money-grubbing politicians in the first place.

Now Now My mother told me those men wouldn’t be in Washington if they didn’t know what they were doing. Don’t destroy a young man’s belief in his mother

It’s not that he’s against your having healthcare, Lady. It’s that he’s against making someone else pay for it. As for his own healthcare, he’s a government employee, so someone else is already paying for it. That contradiction is not a reason to heap further obligations on the taxpayer.

Maybe they should get the same deal that the non-government workers are getting.

My two cents: Orthodontia in a lot of cases (not all, mind you) is cosmetic and not “necessary.” I grew up with crooked front teeth. Now, if it were “dentistry,” that’s a different story. Dental health often indicates overall health so should be covered like any other health insurance. While I get the gist of this comic, I think it could have been something other than orthodontia.
I’m in favor of a National Health System.

Congressmen are supposed to work for the greater good of their constituents… Not worry about the few who are not going to pay for it, but the many that do pay their taxes and yet DO NOT have any health insurance.
