Pete loves the attention. It’s the accountability thingy he has a problem with. He SHOULD be in Cooperstown, though, and he might love the lead of being a roving minor league batting instructor. He could even do autograph signings en route to his next assignment in Billings or Hickory or wherever.

Both Serena and Sharapova likely hated Anna Kournikova…if you’re going to lose out on endorsement money, it should go to someone who’s at least won ONE tournament and Kournikova couldn’t even do that. It was probably the same with LPGA golfers and Laura Baugh.

I’m of both minds on books v. e-readers. I PREFER a physical book and have hundreds of them, most in the attic because we don’t have the space downstairs. Nothing like being able to literally turn a page, I guess.

On the other hand, my wife and I are taking an Amtrak trip across six states starting today and I’m taking my e-reader because it’s so much more convenient and (thanks to Gutenberg.org) I’ve got over 1,200 free books to choose from.

Taxpayers. Seattle taxpayers have seen millions of their dollars spent on bicycle lane installations to cater to 3.5 percent of commuters while reducing the number of lanes available to motorists (which does wonders for gridlock). Helps when you’ve got a bicycle club advocate in the mayor’s office.

Thanks for repeating M2MM’s transcription of Lynn’s Notes. We might’ve missed them the first time.

I’m a Christian with Buddhist leanings and none of this bothers me because it doesn’t affect what I believe…it’s a comic strip, not a catechism.

Competition isn’t supposed to be easy. That’s why established taxi companies hate Uber: Consumers have one more choice besides them. Nobody is being forced to patronize either Uber OR Yellow Cab. Let the market decide this.
