And then you have to read all of Narbonic. Which is also brilliant, though the art isn’t as good in the early going.

I’m guessing that I’m the only reader of this strip who isn’t a full-throated pacifist. Cuz once you concede that you may need to employ violence sometime, you concede the need for weapons. And they don’t form out of thin air; someone has to design and manufacture them. (It’s also useful if you have better weapons than your opponents do.) Sure; Basil Zaharof was ethically challenged, but the “evil defense contractor” stereotype is about as valid as traditional racist/ethnic/sexist stereotypes are. Surely we are all past that sort of sloppy thinking these days?

Am I the only one who thought of Dr. Seuss when reading this strip?

Interesting to compare this to the English version. Wonder whether they didn’t want to go metric, or didn’t want to deal with differing average heights among different Hispanic groups.

Very different punch line than the Anglo version. I guess they couldn’t come up with a good backronym in Espanol.

If I thought that they would lay off 30,000 government employees, I’d vote for them in a flash!

Marigold may need to speak to cast the Shield of Boringness

Phoebe’s right; equality isn’t always pretty. In fact, it’s almost never pretty. Freedom, on the other hand, is beautiful.
