Antique, you aren’t doing your side any favors with that argument/name calling/radicalism (Every citizen is a member of the militia).

BTW, I am not a member of any militias.

Tripel Axel, there is an important point in your quote that I think has been missed by many of the peope calling for troops at the border, “Of the 230 total migrants interviewed, 219 cited the primary reason for migrating to the United States was the perception of U.S. immigration laws…”

The PERCEPTION is the problem. Reality is we are already grabbing more of them than we can handle.

Perhaps we just need to start a PR campaign to change that perception more than we need more forces on the border.

Hope no one works for a “closely held company” that doesn’t believe in vaccinations, surgery, etc.
Personally, I have a strongly held belief in hour long lunch breaks and 4 day workweeks.

Harley, so many things wrong w/ what you wrote. The group isn’t Al Quaeda, its a another group called ISIS that has come in from Syria. Also, nobody is going to keep that country under control but another crazy dictator. Too many people there have no love of their country and are unwilling to fight for it, as evidenced by their armed forces who just dropped their guns and uniforms when the fighting got hot. (They’re not cowards, they just aren’t willing to die FOR THEIR COUNTRY…for Allah, sure) So unless you are saying we should have continued to lose American $$ and lives in a FRUITLESS effort in that war ravaged land, you should admit that we NEVER SHOULD HAVE GONE IN IN THE FIRST PLACE. Even Papa Bush said so.

I swear, I just DON’T GET this whole, “Obama wants to be Emperor!” idea. One one hand, people say ’he’s pushy!‘, then they say, "he can’t get anything done!"

Besides, each president tries to expand the Executive Branch’s powers, and he hasn’t done anything any more ridiculous than any other president.

As a former public school science teacher, I apologize. The average American seems to have NO idea what science is, or what to do with it. I only hope MY former students don’t assume the scientists of the world are wrong because the results conflict with how they would LIKE things to be.

I was torn on this issue until I examined by basic belief in economics. Demand drives everything. Giving the lower income earners a SHOT at reaching the middle class will create a greater demand for goods/services and increase demand, thus improving our economy.

As for those crying,“INFLATION!!!”, we’ve been waiting on inflation ever since the stimulus and TARP, and it really hasn’t been a problem. I"ll risk a little inflation rather than our current state of affairs.

Now, somebody say, “Oh, we need a tax cut for the rich”. PLEASE.

I cannot stand the arugment “my gun doesn’t hurt people, PEOPLE hurt people.” Of freaking course! But your gun does make it a HELL of a lot easier to hurt MORE people, hurt them BADLY, and do it QUICKLY.

No one is asking for a credit card w/ no spending limit. The debt ceiling is hardly part of this debate (yet). All Boehner has to do is VOTE on a clean spending bill, and it will PASS with Bi-partisan support!. A small part of the House is holding the rest of the country hostage.

So either you feel the hungry can starve to death quietly, or you feel by simply cutting $, that it will magically go only to the GOOD people who need it, and not the lazy. If you want reform, great…REFORM. Instead we simply cut everyone’s benefits b/c of a few bad apples. Good people will suffer b/c of this.
