I also do not buy the idea women tip better. I have seen my mother in law leave a quarter for a $10 lunch and several women friends who will dock the waitress’s tip for being to flirty to their husband although it is usually the women with the husbands that flirt back
I think the best tippers are the ones who have waited tables themselves – men or women. My husband and I tip 25% sometimes more because we know how hard it is and how so many things are out of your control when you wait tables but it is your pay that pay gets docked (by lack of tip) for everything – bad food, snotty hostess, loud people at the next table etc. That being said a smile is a waitress best friend!
You try working with kids in any capacity and then tell me it is not hard work. Good Grief!!
That is probably the ‘special’ nightgown. Sometimes for a mom the specialness of the new nightgown is that it is non-stained with kid stuff and does not have any holes
Punishing the person making less than minimum wage who works mainly for tips because the company is making a lot of money makes absolutely no sense at all. Should the company pay a living wage yes of course but until they do if you can’t afford the full price of the service which should include tipping appropriately then you can’t afford the service period.
I was a waitress during college and I know how hard of a job it is. That being said as a single women, then married I have always made it a point to tip high 25% and up because it is a hard job. The assumption that women are bad tippers or get irritated it their husbands tip big is not the case with any of the women I know. ****Funny story though one time my husband and I were eating out and the waitress was so obvious that she thought flirting with the man would get her a big tip that she literally ignored me and practically sat in my husbands lap. I have never seen a waitress who had to reach across a patron so many times literally bopping him in the cheek once with her chest. Should have seen her face when she brought the check and I picked it up to pay for it. I then told her she should treat all her customers well because you never know who is tipping. That being said still tipped her 25% because it is the right thing to do
Bottom line – airplane or anywhere else keep out of others personal space and always stand up for yourself. All the comments on what she should do – wear a sweater, put on a coat etc is only relevant if she is complaining about his vent blowing on her not her own. Take a stand Elly and reach up and shut it off. He had no right to touch it to begin with
Wow Rebel Strike! Out of curiosity why on earth do you read this comic?
Okay I rarely comment but I have to say something here. My husband and I have made the decision to only live on 1 income so someone is always home with the kids. That means we run up credit card debt when needed drive old cars etc but it is a choice that works for us. That said that is not a viable option for most people. If only people who can afford to have kids have them the majority of the population would not have kids. That statement is just so ignorant. Also when did it become bad parenting to ask another parent to run carpool for a change.

Smoking cost us all. It is not ‘PC’ to demand that people not smoking. If I can smell your smoke it is damaging my lungs period and you have no right to do that. If people want to smoke they should have to put on a self-contained hazmat suit and soak all that yummy cancerous smoke themselves then decontaminate and then join the rest of us.
