I know Sparky created this before he died. I think he knew he was close to death before it ended. Sparky died the day before the final strip appeared in newspapers.

I think the February 13 2000 comic and last comic dealt with coming of age. Charlie Brown got a phone call from Sparky’s family. The family member asked for Snoopy. Snoopy was writing Sparky’s obituary. Notice the somber expressions on both of their faces. I find it interesting that peanuts started out innocent and embraced staying in innocence until the final one. The last Peanuts comic is unusually somber and depressing.

Hobbes, isn’t it weird how there are two of us on here now? I guess you could say I came from Calvin’s duplicator machine. LOL.

My Hobbes is not bootlegged. It is a fan creation. The tag that came with it did not mention Hobbes at all. It might have been an issue if it had, the tiger looks like Hobbes. I guess they were able to get away with it by calling it a tiger. The picture is here.

I got a plush Hobbes for my 24th birthday yesterday. My brother got it for me off eBay. I asked him to get it for me.

It saddens me that Calvin and Hobbes would not work in today’s society due to political correctness. Take this comic for example. The teacher’s name seems to prove my point. Watterson was smart to end it in 1995. I wonder what Calvin did with his life after the ending.
Calvin mentioned a fresh clean start. Did Calvin all of a sudden come of age during the series finale to Calvin and Hobbes? The final comic left me wanting more. Watterson could have used the ending to form a sequel series to Calvin and Hobbes down the road. I am glad that Watterson did not continue Calvin and Hobbes under a different name. I think the final strip is about coming of age. Calvin probably decided that this year he was going to do well in school maybe and get good grades. I like the ending though and I do think that if Calvin and Hobbes had continued either under the same name and/or a different name it would have lost its quality that it had when it was still running in the newspapers.
Does anyone on here know since Calvin was based on John Calvin, whether or not Calvin was a Christian? There was some strips where Calvin doubts God, but as a Christian you can have doubts and still be saved.
Hobbes, what is your take on my comment?
This is jpb1991. My username is not displayed anymore since I am using my first name on here now.

Hobbes, check out the book Teaching With Calvin and Hobbes on Amazon.com. Teaching with Calvin and Hobbes was designed for children with learning disabilities to help them comprehend things. One of the areas that the book focused on was behavior.

I think it can go either way. Since Calvin is six years old, he probably does not have ADD. If he was older and still doing these things, it would be a good indicator of it. Calvin could have ADD or he may not.

I remember when I read some of Calvin and Hobbes in 2011, I thought Calvin was mentally ill due to fantasizing all of the time. Now I do not think this. Calvin can be naughty, but he still has a good nature due to being upset about animals when they died.

Hobbes is my favorite character in the comic. Hobbes is a cute tiger. He is also wise and acts as a mentor to Calvin. I think Hobbes could be a real tiger in the comic while appearing as a stuffed animal to adults.

Hobbes, do you think Hobbes the tiger could be an angel sent by God to help Calvin? I can see Hobbes as an angel sent by God.
