That baseball “retirement” of Jordan’s has always looked fishy to me.

Kid, time you learned there’s always someone who’s richer or smarter or better looking or more socially adept than you.

Doesn’t mean you can’t compete. Just means you don’t always win.

It’s only hiberniation if you hibernate in Ireland.

I think my 2 year old would want Tank MacNamara to win, as he likes tanks (and trucks, and bulldozers and tractors and …)

We have @##$ for choices this year. I note Prickly City comes from a different political viewpoint, but he’s not happy, either.

You are correct. The riskmania was discussed 5/4: http://www.gocomics.com/tankmcnamara/2016/05/04

There’s also bicycling across the US for them to try. The record for a mixed tandem is held by Lon Haldeman and Susan Notorangelo in 1986 (9 days, 20 hours).

Lon and Susan are not only still married, but run a cycling training business together. (www.pactour.com)

I was not nearly so lucky with getting my wife on our tandem.

Prediction: She’s going to forgive this guy, despite the lame excuses. Tank will have to hike back by himself, possibly being chased by that real bear from a couple of days back.

In addition to being that great double play combo, both Chance (1905-1912) and Evers (1913, 1921) managed the Cubs.

As Chance would have it, the Cubs last won the World Series in 1908. He was a pretty successful manager. From Wikipedia:

“In 1906, the Cubs won a Major League record 116 games, and posted a modern-era record winning percentage of .763…. The Cubs won back-to-back World Series championships in 1907 and 1908, becoming the first Major League team to play in three consecutive Fall Classics, and the first to win it twice. …The Cubs have not won the World Series in 107 years, the longest championship drought of any major North American professional sports team.”

A couple of days ago, a realtor in Toronto sent me a lease to sign. This was an error; my last name (and probably email address) was one letter off from mine. I emailed her back about the error — but said I’d keep her name on file.

I’m not actually going to leave the country, but I share Scott’s sentiments.
