What version of eenie-meenie is he using? Most common versions have an even number of beats, and thus always end up on the opposite person from the one started with (assuming two people).

“Obviously this comic strip is trying to present a narrative which establishes that Michael Brown and people like him are just innocent victims of trigger-happy racists.”

Or, perhaps, that the rules for black men are often very different than the rules for white men? It seems entirely possible that Michael Brown is not the best case to hold up to demonstrate this idea, but there are unfortunately plenty of other cases.

I’m quite comfortable accepting this cartoon as an example of ‘how leftists think’; I really hope your reply isn’t a good example of how rightists think – generalizing from a single case that there is no greater problem.

Pagers are still state of the art for both my doctor wife and my software engineer brother when they are on call for their respective jobs.

Scientific theories cannot be proven; they can only be disproved (or refined). The ‘Law’ or theory of gravitation has been tested repeatedly, and is accepted as a stable model that is useful for explaining this aspect of nature. That’s as good as it gets in science.

@Liam – While Obama is continuing the program, the legal justifications cited are parts of Bush’s Patriot Act.

The football player is a baiting him so that he can tackle him. Bubba is a bit more literalist than most bait shops.

Chaze126, bigpuma – Assuming they know something is the opposite of talking down to someone. Also, it seems unlikely that Mallet would be deliberately trying to alienate his audience, though you are right that he’s probably not aiming for the least common denominator (thank godlike being).

While the industrial age has certainly accelerated things, human effects on climate can be traced to the beginnings of agriculture. Deforestation in particular has been going on since at least then. When deniers make the charge that a few billion humans just don’t have the means to change something as big as the climate of the Earth, they are forgetting that this has been an almost 15,000 year project involving hundreds of billions of people.
