Let’s eliminate income taxes, estate taxes, etc. Eliminate the IRS.

    Two comments:
    (1) How did cartoonists ever get along creating their strips before there was the com-box in which everyone could tell the cartoonist how to do his/her job.
    (2) Fast food — why Americans are obese (and the rest of the world that is getting fast food is joining the trend).

With attitudes like that, these 2 have no business getting married. What a way to start.

The height of arrogance to think that mere man can change the course of the universe. Meanwhile, I have a plan: I will wear jeans and sweaters in the winter, jeans and tee shirts in the spring, shorts and tee shirts in the summer, and jeans and tee shirts in the fall. The records of the 1930s still stand; most of the records of the 1950s still stand — at least in my corner of the world. The earth’s temperature has not increased in the past 15 years, and the increase before that was nominal. The ice caps expand and recede, and yet, life goes on. There are more polar bears and deer now than before. I could go on, but I sense the steam spewing forth from the liberals as they are about to explode over the fact that not everyone — including scientists — agree with their doomsday visions.

Back in ’70, ’71 and ’72, my peak babysitting years, I earned 50 cents per hour for 1 – 2 children, and 75 cents per hour for 3 or more children. Back then, no one worried about withholdings, etc., because everyone understood that hiring the local junior high girl to babysit was outside the realm of employment and taxation laws. This was obviously back in the era where more people had common sense.

I was so proud of my work ethic the summer of ’72, because I worked enough hours to buy my 10-speed Western Flyer bike, which cost $75.00 + tax.

That old bike still hangs in our garden shed. My husband threatens at least once a summer to toss it to the curb for the garbage collectors to take. I remind him that (a) I keep it as a symbol of an early success, and (b) when I’m ready to get rid of it, I’ll give to to someone who will appreciate a bike.

And I prefer self-checkout because I can handle it more quickly than a cashier.

If they have to be pushed, then they’re not ready. Sheesh! And shacking up before marrying guarantees nothing.
