The problem with square districts would be the irregular shape of the States, and more importantly, the irregular “distribution” of the people; after all, the representatives are suppose to represent people – not land.Perhaps if the representatives were voted in by the entire State, though (like the Senators)? It would change the dynamics of the House some, but it would also do in gerrymandering.
