most of what i’ve learned has been from mistakes i’ve made. this happens a lot in playing music. often a mistake will lead to more interesting music. in fact i’ve read two how-to-improvise books that
go into this in detail. one even had a two page guide on various ways of making mistakes for the overly trained who had difficulty making them. “mistakes are the portals of discovery”- james joyce, 1882-1941. died the year dylan was born. and dick cheney. and my kid sister. who is a great-grandmother.
