The only reason I stopped by to comment and raise my eyebrows was to somehow convey the idea that, although there are no guarantees, raising a child with serious religious values does, indeed, do wonders.
Interesting that the Mormon already mentioned it, which means that my reaction was not so far off the mark. Me? A Torah observant (ie: Orthodox) Jew.

Yes. Just yes – except it’s not a “Wonder.” It’s just the Truth.

Yes! Yes! Pastis Rocks! NSA, here you come!
Who Disappears first? Pig? Zeeba? Back behind bars for the lot of you!

Is it just me, or has Jimmy Johnson been either off, or heavily on, his meds for the last couple of years.
I read Arlo and Janis without understanding a single thing and I think of somebody who just gave up trying to make sense and started cartooning stream of consciousness style…

    This is so wrong.
    Where is John Boy?

    Nice.
    Oh Stephan, Stephan…
Y’all may love being in touch with your inner monkey’s uncle but, no matter how you slice it – do you really want to throw your weight into the miasma of Hamlet’s global warming despair?

“I have of late—but wherefore I know not—lost all my mirth, forgone all custom of exercises, and indeed it goes so heavily with my disposition that this goodly frame, the earth, seems to me a sterile promontory; this most excellent canopy, the air—look you, this brave o’erhanging firmament, this majestical roof fretted with golden fire—why, it appears no other thing to me than a foul and pestilent congregation of vapors.”

Or his simply depressing and cynical view of the essence of Man?
Stephan may be fond of the humours of this but, y’all really want to live this?

“What a piece of work is a man! How noble in reason, how infinite in faculty! In form and moving how express and admirable! In action how like an angel, in apprehension how like a god! The beauty of the world. The paragon of animals. And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust? Man delights not me. No, nor woman neither, though by your smiling you seem to say so…”

Only clever if you are aware of comma’s and their usage….
Not being able to use a comma properly raises a red flag regarding this poor attempt at punditry.

Does Stephan always draw his characters so that they look like they are sitting on invisible chairs?

I don’t know. Pig’s expression and question seem reasonable to me.
That’s pretty much the question all the time regarding any kid….

The lack of comments are interesting. For the last few months, I have become convinced that Jimmy Johnson has gone off the deep end into some kind of disassociated fugue where his strips wander from raunchy sexual references to completely boring non comic strips…. Perhaps Mr. Johnson is suffering from some kind of dementia> I wish him well but, these strips are basically unreadable.
