But… I don’t understand. TORTS don’t have any calories. Now, a TART would… but that’s something entirely different. Or is my eyesight failing me?

“Song Of The South” shouldn’t be labeled as offensive by anyone. Even if they find it so, that’s their problem. I see stuff every day that offends me. I get over it, they can too. Nothing offensive about “Amos ‘n’ Andy,” either. Whether by design or accident, it ended up reincarnated as “Sanford and Son.” Maybe “Song,” will resurface too, with Snoop Dog singing “Zippity,” which will make it politically correct.

I saw a newspaper story about the NBC-Jay Leno feud that referred to Ed Sullivan as a talk show host. There probably hasn’t been a variety show on TV in the writer’s lifetime.

I can’t watch movies in a theater anymore. I’m afraid someone will start talking on a cell phone, and I’ll end up as breaking news.

Does anyone remember the magazine ad that this is parodying? I think it was for an alcoholic beverage of some type. It might have been Absolute Vodka, I’m not sure.

The whole purpose of the strip is political! It’s political satire! Good grief! You remove the politics and you remove 90% of the reason for its existence.
