Oh this happens with male or female adult children and siblings too.

I really like this strip! Just finished viewing all the ones here from the beginning, and am a big fan now.

And while the legibility is an issue HERE for some of the strips, it’s perfectly fine at thespiritofthestaircase.com.

Maybe gocomics can do something about the quality of the images?

I now want to incorporate “heartily sick of the wretched things” into conversations about politicians. It will be easy enough. ;-)

I was startled by the correct use of “adage” – the first time in eons “old” wasn’t chunked in front of it. But as one who has ceased owning cats, I’m with the dog. Besides, a cat is only a stray until the first time you feed it.

But then there’d be all those rats who’d refuse to eat the humans because they weren’t organic, having been treated with immunizations, synthetic vitamins, antibiotics, DEET, etc. More food for Dilbert’s little buddy!

Oh gosh, I meant Earl. Tells you how old I am reading all the old folk comics!!!

I like Ben, and his grandson, but the only likeable woman in this strip is the daughter. Gosh those old broads (Opal and her sister) are a cautionary tale of what NOT to become as a woman, or to stay married to as a spouse.

Her idea of loss is my idea of growing up, smarter, maybe wiser, hopefully better. Those are dues we pay for the opportunity to be alive. And I screw up enough in the present without focusing on the past (unless it makes me laugh). :-)

I suspect he was more concerned his wife would give him heck for it, nag that she is.
