I thought it was simply made out of Minecraft dirt. But then all I know about Minecraft I learned from my 8yo grandson.

Absolutely. He may not walk like a duck, and talk like a duck, but he’s definitely a quack!

Let’s see him wallop her one time good – that’d be a nice change. Though I’m sure somebody will be glad to see a female exceeding a male in something – being an abusive little jerk.

Wow, I like the edge to this comic strip, but today’s is just ugly. I’m an atheist but that’s one mean, intolerant little girl.

They ARE safer. Yes plenty are injured or killed in accidents, or are abused, but statistics don’t lie. And being alive and physically sound is always better than maimed or dead. I don’t know anyone of my generation (I’m a 52yo grandmother) or older who didn’t have at least one elementary school classmate get seriously injured or die in a car accident.

Thank you! The statistics of how many babies and older children died in car crashes in the 50s and 60s is depressing. Our moms didn’t know that putting us under their seat belts would essentially make us their airbag, but that’s how a lot of kids died. And don’t forget the perverts, oh yes we had those. The cops would come around a few days later and ask questions we were too embarrassed to answer. People need to stop pretending kids have it worse just because they’re safer, and a few nutjob helicopter parents get too much attention. Intentional selective memory just makes us over-50s sound ridiculous.

I will always pick them up as long as I’m able. As my depressing husband likes to say, You never notice the last time you pick up your child, but there will always be that last time.

Or a tart of absolutely no standards left?

It’s not one extreme or the other in real-life, despite navel-gazing NYT and HuffPO articles. If there truly were one theory of parenting that worked we’d know by now. It’s a bit of everything, as needed.

Haha, yeah, been there, but cheated and poured it through cheese cloth! Gotta do what we gotta do for that caffeine fix… ;-)
