Because those law makers let it be a monopoly. The deal fell through because it would have given Comcast over 50% of the Internet connection market and then they would be treated like a monopoly. They didn’t want that because it would put a real crimp in their money making machine.

Another successful application of the conservative ideology after the success of “Mission Accomplished” and “a rising tide will lift all boats”. I would like to see a pragmatist elected who works on solving real problems like fixing our infrastructure, revising the tax code to eliminate all the special interest tax breaks, an immigration policy that does’t require deporting twelve million people, and an education system that is cheap and effective.

Scandal of the day. No proof of wrong doing, only a lot of mud slinging to stop the candidate they are afraid of. Usual conservative tactic. I really wish they would contribute the money they spend mud slinging on trying to fix some of the problems people deal with every day.

Actually billions of dollars have been contributed by people like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet.

There are a lot of examples of people who are altruistic. Billionaires like Warren Buffet, Bill Gates and dozens of others contribute their fortunes to making the world a better place. Other’s like the Koch brothers are intent on pushing their political agenda.

Slinging accusations at people without hard evidence is also rather unethical, isn’t it?

Another book full of allegations. The article points even points out that some of the evil non-disclosure was not required by law. Of course the author’s motivations are pure as the driven snow! It’s not like he expects to make any money off the book or has any kind of political agenda or maybe even gets some payoff from a campaign fund somewhere.

Actually a flat tax isn’t very fair. Also taxes are used by all countries to encourage desired changes. Tax breaks for education and R&D are example of desirable outcomes. There is not simple answer, but our current code is nuts.

You can’t close your eyes to the evil in the world. I suppose you think the ISIL terrorists can be convinced to leave us alone by your thoughtful reasoning. It is a shame you can’t support your own government. Perhaps you would rather live under ISIL rule or in North Korea where innocent people are killed indiscriminately. You can’t close your eyes and hope that the evil in the world all go away. There is no way one can conduct offensive operations and manage never to hurt an innocent bystander. We can only work really hard at trying to avoid it.

More food nuts! As the ancient Greeks observed, everything in moderation.
