    Sportymonk, I have wild roses growing from my neighbour’s yard into parts of my yard where they are not wanted. So yes, roses can be weeds.

    Also sad to see this go. For those who only started reading it recently, I felt the same way with Cul de Sac when it ended, as I had only come across it near the end. For those looking for another strip, one on my list that may appeal to similar audience is Frazz.

    Max has aged, just very, very slowly. Joan’s grown, too. I recall an early strip where she was explaining to Max very gently why he couldn’t have something, and then Val showed her how much more effective a straight-forward “No” could be.

    As a teacher myself, I can say that the amount I’m allotted on my health care for glasses will only pay for about 1/4 of a pair of glasses at most optical dispensers. I do know people in other jurisdictions that have slightly better eye wear coverage, though.
