No, those are games and toys in the picture. As far as the “not enough time to clean up” comments, the frustrating part is not that he isn’t finished, it is that he didn’t start. At all. He made no attempt to follow his mother’s directions. And yes, 15 minutes is enough time to have at least started. 40 minutes would have been plenty of time to finish as well. She didn’t ask him to clean the entire house, vacuum, and dust. Putting toys away doesn’t take that long, even for a child.

It happens all the time. As a teacher, I can’t tell you how many times I get emails/calls because a child didn’t do their homework or got in trouble at school and they want me to forgo the consequence because they might feel bad about it.

However, it is still true that girls tend to be more mature than boys, regardless of the change in parents’ thinking.

Maybe John’s salary is fine to cover the mortgage, but if Elly’s salary is enough to cover it, then the family now has some extra money on hand, which is always a happy.

Not to mention, it depends on tone of voice as well. When speaking. the missing comma would be evident by the way the question was asked. MeGoNow, I bet they just loooooooved you at that school.

Anne’s eldest boy is in the big part of the shopping cart; Lynn Johnston just never finished drawing the cart, so it looks like he’s floating.

I’m glad it’s not true that you “can’t appreciate, understand, or even like children until you have one,” cause I’d be one really crappy second grade teacher then.

Yes, everyone has a right to their own opinion. That being said, clearly Susan has an issue with this comic strip. She is physically incapable of letting any mistake a COMIC STRIP CHARACTER go uncriticized. When one person feels the need to incessantly complain and criticize, it brings the enjoyment down for the rest of us who actually like the comic. And we are of the opinion that if she doesn’t like the comic or the character, to go away and leave the rest of us in peace.

Ellie mentioned it first, but she wasn’t referring to looks initially, she was pointing out that this guy was with another woman. John took it into the looks department.

What teacher lets the kid sit in his desk drenched all day?

Susan, if you hate Elly so much (and it’s very clear you do, given your posts on EVERY day’s strip, why do you still bother to read it?
