I think I saw that same hat on one of the church ladies in a Sunday “Curtis” strip.

I do hope Luann and their other friends are at the airport to give them a proper sendoff.

Jimmy, it may be time to sell the stamp collection.

I didn’t have a chance to comment yesterday. Sergio boosting her motivation is nice and all, but did he really have to treat his son like a bag of rocks to do so? Baldo’s about 8 years older than Gracie. He has an actual brain (which we see at work or sometimes with his friends, instead of him being so often written as a moronic slacker at home). I’d say there’s a pretty good chance of him going to college.

I didn’t know Rover was part Springer Spaniel!

“Chosen”? The valedictorian is the top-ranked student (by whatever exact system the school has defined)

I agree. The quote is from “The Doomsday Machine”. One of my favorite episodes in general, and lately one of my favorite moments. Spock being immensely cool and immensely bad***, dressing down a Commodore (“You tried that already. The result was a wrecked ship and a dead crew!”) with a giant earbud sticking out of one ear the whole time.

Hey! Didja hear about that weird VanPelt boy? Goes around patting birds on the head! I bet his sister is strange, too!

In answer to somebody’s reply to my comment the other day about prom and restaurant… Where and when I grew up, prom was a dinner/dance, usually at some banquet facility. The idea of a formal dance, separate from dinner, seems (to me) to have been more common a couple of decades earlier.

At last – something becomes clear! I couldn’t understand why the fab four were talking about “calling the restaurant” and stuff like they had dinner reservations for a particular time. They were in fact going out for dinner – and “prom” for their school means “a dance”.
