I’d like a job where I could be a super hero, but I don’t want a job where I’m expected to be one.

Yup, if you let me live in your house for free, feed me, clean up my messes, and pay all my medical bills, I’ll be happy to lie around your house all day.

Since the foot binding practice involved breaking the bones of the feet into tiny shards over time, causing those women extreme health issues, it’s not quite comparable to the sciatica, hammer toes, and bunions caused by modern foot wear. But, yes, trading one’s own health for fashion is pretty freaking crazy. (Oh, and yes, foot binding was something mothers did to their toddler daughters)
