    It took too long, but what I get is: panel 1=anticipation, 2=excitement, 3=disappointment that toast has ceased to be entertaining, (unseen=Doug reenacts the excitement or rejects the toast), 4=Sophie benefitting from & commenting on all that

    I remember hating Lord of the Flies in high school. I reread it when I was in my late 30s and was blown away. There’s so much there that is verboten discussion in a HS classroom. It’s a poor choice for that age group.
