The term for people who are not transgendered is cisgendered, often shortened to “cis.” According to wikipedia: “Cisgender (often abbreviated to simply cis) is a label for those whose experiences of their own gender agree with the sex they were assigned at birth.” Now, when I’m not discussing gender/sex/sexuality specifically, I just use the term “women” and that includes, in my mind, cis-women and trans-women — they’re all women. But if it’s a conversation about sex, gender, and sexuality, then “cis” is a helpful word because it allows one to be clear, polite, and respectful.

This strip reminds me of the xkcd strip that one should always consult before commenting twice on an internet thread.
