I didn’t know, until recently, that Mr. Beagle had also written an episode of TNG – specifically, the episode “Sarek” which sort of started the unification (so to speak) of TOS and TNG. (I have to say “sort of” because there was Dr. McCoy’s cameo in the pilot episode 2 1/2 years earlier.)

Cute dialogue there about Phoebe and myths. I guess a myth really is as good as a mile.

Love? I thought they were just friends. Oh well, if this doesn’t get Lord Splendid Humility to show himself, nothing will!

It’s been done before… Remember when Catwoman changed from Julie Newmar to Eartha Kitt? ;)

As for Phoebe, I hear Tara Strong in full Timmy Turner mode.

I could see either of them as Marigold, to be sure, but when I’m reading the strip, I’m still hearing the voice of Luna (the talking cat, not the princess) as voiced in the dub by Jill Frappier. Of course, Jill never bought me a drink. ;)

Not to mention the plural of a computer mouse.

Re: network television, the execs don’t want intelligent people as part of their demographic; people like that are considered far less likely to believe the commercials.

And that is the nature of the beast: the commercials are the reason for the shows. The programming is just the filler between the commercials.
