I’ve been married 40+ years. My better half has aged like fine wine. Great to begin with and ever getting better.

Nah, mom probably knew they were outside. It’s just that she just finished washing the kitchen floor and now has to do it all over again.

Ah! Tomato sandwich, the essence of Summer. Ours are just starting to come in. Too bad we leave for vacation and will miss some. Just can’t win sometimes.

Yeah, but the “steel pot” was a good multi-purpose tool. Besides its intended use, you could dig with it, use as a pot to boil water for coffee, and even cook it it. It was a little heavy though but one got used to it. I don’t think you can do all that with the new kevlar helmets.

I disagree with J-B; we should keep things as they are. Up until the 1960’s, Memorial Day was known as Decoration Day in memory of those who died defending the U.S. And, to this day the U.S. Military decorates the graves of those who served and are buried in the national cemeteries. Also this is the only day where the U.S. flag is at half-staff until noon in memory of those who died defending our country.
On the other hand, November 11 was known as Armistice Day, commemorating the end of World War 1. I can remember when it was celebrated in the 1950’s with a moment of silence at 11:00AM on November 11, while I was in grade school. Now its proper observance as Veteran’s Day, in honor of those who are living and have served is entirely appropriate. (Note: I am a veteran having served in Vietnam.)

That’s what brothers and sisters are for, even 70 years later!

Grey, listen to your wife! You’ll get no peace until you go to the doctor’s.
