Still going at 0230 here. But we live at a lake, and the city folks whose towns ban fireworks buy thousands of dollars worth and come out here to shoot them. We get a 360 degree view – whilst remaining on fire watch until the drunks finally go to bed.

Imagine very cold, dry outside air, whilst wearing a knit cap. Now come inside to dry, warm air and take off the cap. Instant static, drawing the hair into a Don King do. There you have it.

We still have a couple hardware stores out here in the boonies. It’s nice to buy only the amount I need.

My late mother-in-law covered every sitting and sleeping surface with throw pillows. It took five minutes to remove and find them an out of the way place before we could go to bed.

To say I despise throw pillows would be an understatement. Won’t have them.

They do not make a bed/sofa/chair/whatever look nice. Just makes them look cluttered and signal you are not welcome. Did her chair have a throw pillow on it? Nope.

If any of today’s students want to become historians, they’ll have the dickens of a time reading old documents.
