Boy, is this one dated now.
Comic-strip Huey was ten years old in 1999, which means that he realistically would be likely to recall life before Grandad decided to hook up to the information superhighway. (remember that term? =) ) He’d likely only had it for a couple of years.
But now? This comment would just be bizarre to a ten year old in 2014.

But of course, Huey is still ten years old in 2014. Ah, comic-strip time….

I think when Calvin gets a little older, he and his dad are going to bond in ways they weren’t able to before, because they’re both highly intelligent and insightful. Calvin might be a rebellious teen, but he and his dad will probably be able to speak to each other on the same level.

I think you’re looking at this comic strip upside down and through a mirror.

This is one of the few Boondocks strips that ever genuinely rattled me. Riley seems to have been genuinely attempting homicide, here.

What’s going on in Iraq right now would never have happened if Bush and Cheney had not toppled the Hussein regime. If Carmen is trying to imply otherwise, she’s foolish.

The original Patty didn’t immediately exit upon the arrival of Peppermint Patty, though she was rapidly fading in prominence. They overlapped for about a decade until 1976 which supposedly was Patty’s last named appearance. However, she and Violet would still occasionally turn up as late as the mid 90s.

I’m glad you brought Phoebe’s eyes back to their initial full-oval design after the 2013 “open line” detour they took here.

Good sir, while racism does indeed work both ways, can you name one moment in the Boondocks that could rationally be construed as “racist” against whites? Just one?

It’s weird——-Breathed drew a more convincing and pleasing female form at this early, primitive stage than he did at the height of Bloom County, when he was coming up with “attractive” bikini models that were shaped almost as strangely as a Rob Liefeld action heroine.

I don’t know how you do it or exactly what it is, but somehow you just make her look like such a “mom” here. Her stance, her posture, her position, the curve of her back——I dunno. It just all adds up to the embodiment of “mom” somehow—-and in just a few lines.
