“the Republicans weren’t doing everything they could to sabotage anything that would help our country”

You mean other than blocking health care reform, the Gingrich-led “Contract On America,” the government shutdown, and their failed attempt to impeach the President over infidelity? Methinks they were trying pretty hard.

I’ve heard it before; thanks for the full reference. But I get the sense catzilla sees it as a sincere prescription for how things should be (along the lines of we should all be taxed equally) rather than a bit of (liberal) sarcasm. Perhaps I’m mistaken. Or perhaps catz was being ironic in calling on “liberals” to identify the fallacy. If so, I withdraw my remarks!

Given that ‘s a statement of fact and not a syllogism, I’d say asking folks to find the logical “failicy” is a bit muddle-headed. But whatever. How about this one: “The law forbids the poor as well as the rich from engaging in the marketing and sale of fraudulent mortgage-backed securities.” Oh, but wait. Nobody actually went to jail for that.

I prefer the bar fight when Charley took his cues from Curious George… (“Charley was very curious about what the f*** this guy’s problem was…”)

LOL. I can see that in your case, the term “predisposition” doesn’t quite cut it. You’re aware that Muller is funded by the Koch brothers, and that his last batch of findings (confirming temperature trends) was first published in the Wall Street Journal, right? So according to your way of thinking, at least that part must have been true. :)

Major hoax. Did you see this?

I shudder to think what kinds of dark threats were made against Dr. Muller and his family by those nefarious hoaxsters. To turn a poor, honest skeptic like that… dear, dear me.

Then again, maybe he just took a look at the evidence without ideological predispositions. In other words, the opposite of assuming that the whole theory, advanced by thousands of scientists worldwide for over a century is just “an excuse to tax you some more!”

Somehow I don’t think even the most rabid birther would logically equate getting killed with “staying safe.” Perhaps if Judas had said he wouldn’t mind if his neighbor got killed the satire would be less detectable…
