Couldn’t do Etch-a-Sketch worth a darn and always messed up doing Spirograph (who could keep those tiny cog teeth from skipping?) It was fun trying, though……

We have a container on the kitchen counter—every evening hubby empties his change into it. Our bank has a change counter, no charge to customers. (beats rolling it like we used to) Usually end up with anywhere between $600-800 a year, been a couple times it was more.

I like panel 3—Odie’s tongue is almost heart-shaped. He really loves his Garfield.

Can honestly say, as someone with diplopia, I can vouch that it’s no fun seeing 2 without my glasses on. Had horizontal double vision until 40, then my vertical hold went out, as I like to put it. Everything, without glasses on, separates diagonally now. If I’m totally dead on my feet exhausted, I will actually see 3 of things if my glasses are off. Someone asked once what happens when I see 3 of hubby. Told them a) it’s time to go to bed and get some sleep, and b) I grab for the one in the middle for a hug and hope that’s the right one.

This is like just a few years ago when I paid for something with a $2 bill. Gave it to the teenage cashier, who in turn called the manager and asked him: a) was it fake? b) could they accept it?

I tell hubby Crunchy Jif is a food group. Bread is good, hamburger bun works in a pinch. Try peanut butter with carrots (instead of celery) sometime. Pretty good stuff—I prefer the miniature baby carrots.

We are on our 7th bass boat. Live close enough to 2 lakes that we don’t have to go far. Sits beside the garage in its own parking space, no dock/slip fee. Best part? A Saturday or Sunday afternoon sitting on the water, casting a line, forgetting about all worries. You can find bad in anything. Just like home ownership. Ever notice how much upkeep, taxes, etc. will run you? Talk about throwing money into bottomless pits….

Thanks, Nab. You’ve stated, in a nut shell, why my granddaughters are both home schooled.

And may I add here, that people who home school are actually spending double to ensure their children get an education. My son and daughter-in-law pay property taxes on a home and vehicles—a good chunk going for a school tax. Then pay for supplies and programs to home school the girls. If the school system was doing what it collects tax dollars to do, without the drama/politics/backstabbing/inertia/just flat don’t give a d***, home school folks might, might return their kids to the system. But instead, the board in their county would rather pay someone to call and harass these parents about returning their kids to the school system (because they’re “losing federal/state funds”) rather than fixing said system.

Stopped at Sonic a couple Saturdays ago. Got a Lemon Berry slush for hubby—he’d never had one—and myself. (you know where this is heading, right?) He took a huge drink, and darned if he wasn’t making faces like Stupid. I’m still amazed I didn’t wreck while laughing that hard….
