    How about Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse? Amazingly, this Batman-inspired cartoon was created by Bob Kane. I’ve never, to my knowledge, met anyone who remembered Courageous Cat.

    Other examples of comic kids getting older are Luanne and For Better or Worse (although that’s no longer the case for the latter). And then there’s the extreme example, Gasoline Alley, a comic in which a baby was left on a doorstep. That baby is now a grandfather over ninety years old.
